Assigning network resources

Know that the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) is formatted as \\ServerName\ShareName. Shares can be connected to directly using the Start Search box, or drives can be mapped to the UNC path using Windows Explorer.

Be familiar with the Devices and Printers applet and the Printer Properties pages. The Devices and Printers applet is the primary tool used to work with printers. You can add printers and manipulate printer properties from this tool. The majority of the administration for a shared printer is done through the Printer Properties pages.
