I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Learning from your animation heroes
One of the best ways to learn is to study what others have done; that is no surprise. If you wanted to be a soccer (football) star as a child, you probably watched Pelé on TV and imagined yourself scoring goals the same way.
Animation is the same. It's good to watch the animations that others have made. The following animations are a few recommendations that you can try to create:
- Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Trolley Troubles
- Felix the Cat, Woos Whoopee
- Popeye the Sailor, The Paneless Window Washer
- Betty Boop, Minnie the Moocher
- Lotte Reiniger, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, made in Germany
