There is no hierarchy to them, although they sit well beside
Maslow’s needs (Figure 2.2). These categories all fall within a
very traditional psychological focus on emotional and mental
functioning, but they are a good place to start as a checklist that
you can tick off and can notice if there are areas of your psycho-
logical well-being that might need more attention than others.
