Being authentic
When somebody is ‘in their skin’, they are recognised for being
good at what they are doing as if they were born to be that way.
Mick Jagger on stage is Mick Jagger, and anybody else is just a
poor imitation. Being authentic, like beauty, is hard to define
but is easily recognisable. We respond to people who are good
at what they do when it appears as second nature, when they
look unforced, expert and confident. Authentic people hold the
quality of having purpose and action in harmony and there is an
honesty of natural ability that engenders confidence and respect.
