the subjects is not directly available, a researcher identies a person who will be able to provide details
of other respondents whose prole will t the study. Through referrals, respondents can be located
easily, which could otherwise be a difcult and expensive exercise. Snowball sampling method also
suffers from the non-randomness of the sample selection procedure.
