16.10.4 Semi-Averages Method
In the semi-averages method, data are divided into two equal parts with respect to time. For example,
consider a time series i, given from 1991–2000, that is, time is given over a period of 10 years. Then,
the two equal parts of the data will be the time period from 1991–1995 and the time period from 1996–
2000. If the time units in a time series are odd, then two equal parts would be obtained by dropping
the value corresponding to the middle year and then dividing the remaining data into two equal parts.
