OK, so we covered a lot of ground in this chapter. Let’s recap:

• We looked at how there’s a spectrum of synchronousness that spans between synchronous and asynchronous communication. It’s not the case that the methods in which we communicate are simply one or the other because each has a place on the continuum. We plotted communication techniques and explored best practices for using them, including the need to shift right for remote working.

• We saw how there’s a correlation between synchronousness and permanence, which dictates the type of artifacts that we create as gifts to ourselves in the future. We looked at the expected lifespan of these artifacts and how you can apply some simple habits to make them more futureproof.
