Taking Still Photos
IF YOU’RE USED TO no-frills smartphone cameras that do little more than let you point and shoot in order to take grainy, low-resolution photos, you’re in for a surprise with the Galaxy S II. It sports an 8-megapixel camera that takes vivid photos. Frame your shot on the screen. You can use the camera either in the normal vertical orientation, or turn it 90 degrees for a wider shot. Zoom in and out by using the Galaxy S II’s volume controls. Then tap the button on the right side of the screen to take a photograph.

You’ll hear the familiar snap sound of a photo being taken.
A small thumbnail of your new photo is displayed in the lower left-hand corner of the viewfinder. Tap it to view it.
