Before diving in deeper, I want to mention something to always keep in the back of your mind while planning for your photograph. Camera lenses are convex, which means that as you pan your camera and begin to layer the photographs, there will be distortion. In fact, with a wide-angle lens around 20mm or wider, you’re likely already seeing distortion. With panoramic photographs, that distortion can be interesting. But at the same time, it can ruin the final product. Reducing and potentially removing this distortion means using the right tools and software for the task, which is discussed later on in the ebook.
