Leveling Up
To level the tripod on uneven surfaces, some tripods have bubble levels, as do some Nodal Slides. Most leveling plates will have bubble levels for extreme precision as well. If your equipment does not have built-in bubble levels, I suggest picking up a shoe-mounted bubble level. You can select from a variety, all ranging between $10 and $30. This type of level sits on your camera where the flash would go and is compact, lightweight, and bright yellow and green, making it easy to see. I recommend either a double or triple axis level.
