Step 4: Leveling the Photo
If the camera was not perfectly level, the panorama may appear curved in a horseshoe shape. There will also be a transparent layer behind the photograph. This is a common occurrence, which can be corrected. To fix the curve, you first need to merge the layers into one, without flattening the image. If you flatten the image, the transparent background is removed—but you need that for the next task. Instead, you need to select each layer and choose Layers > Merge Layers (or press Command+E on Mac or Control+E on Windows).
Once the layers are merged into one and you still see the transparency behind it, you can use the Adaptive Wide Angle filter as follows. (This filter was introduced in Photoshop CS6.)
