Filters
While lens filters are not completely necessary for panoramic photography, I want to touch on two filter types that can be beneficial for enhancing your photographs: circular polarizer and neutral density.
The first type of filter is called a polarizer or, more specifically, a circular polarizer. These filters screw onto the front of a lens just like a standard UV filter. The purpose of a polarizer filter is to make the sky darker and bring out more reflections by reducing glare. Anytime water is in a panoramic scene, you should use a polarizer. The beauty of a circular polarizer is the ability to twist the filter in place to control the amount of the effect on the scene.
