Reporting tree definition

A reporting tree definition helps you create an organizational structure and hierarchy for financial reporting. Each box in the organizational hierarchy is represented as a unit in a reporting tree definition. Each unit can be mapped to the individual departments in Finance and Operations and you can create a summary unit to roll up multiple reporting units. You can create an unlimited number of reporting trees and use them in the report definition.

There are two ways of creating a reporting tree:

  • Create one directly in the Report Designer.
  • Leverage a read-only organization hierarchy from Dynamics 356 for Finance and Operations:
