What does this button do?
Many internal web applications that consolidate multiple functions or act as a common portal for many teams will often employ pick-lists in some fields to allow their users to help determine what page, project, share, or sub-function they are interested in. I worked at an employer that was a heavy user of Microsoft SharePoint in its early years, and they would set up a new project portal for each proposal, development effort, or the integration job we launched. While I was possibly involved in five projects at one time, I might have been able to see forty or more on that portal. In most cases, I was denied entry, but in a couple of instances, I was allowed entry accidentally.
