Easter eggs of evil
Kids in some areas of the world celebrate the Spring Christian holiday of Easter by finding hidden treats and eggs. While the significance of these easter eggs to the holiday are tenuous at best, the term carried over into video games, with some programmers at Atari being the first to intentionally hide code and interesting responses from the normal field of play, accessible only when certain combinations of keys or events unlocked the hidden events. Some interesting ones are still out there on modern OSes (http://www.businessinsider.com/mac-windows-easter-eggs-2013-2). Hackers have begun to use similar methods, as normal software validation tools may miss these events or fail to see them in relation to each other.
