As mentioned earlier, active scanning is an attack on the target. Please be certain of your target, the permission to actively scan and compromise it, and of your ethical and legal responsibilities should you find something unexpected or serious enough to warrant immediate disclosure to the customer.
Much like Passive scanning, you can first check to see if the Active scanning is turned on by visiting the Scanner tab's Live Scanning subtab. You can choose to deactivate it, run it using the target scope, or even a custom scope. You can then configure the many potential vulnerability types and engine tweaks on the Options subtab as seen in the following screenshot:
