So, as I ruminated on all the challenges and thought about the difficulty our field has had in winning support based on the quality and effectiveness of good work rather than simply on cost savings, my friend and business partner, Marty Lipshutz, pointed out that regardless of the effort, the struggle for better learning experiences has itself been worth it. He is right.
As the authors point out in this series of annuals, creating effective e-learning is not easy. The issues seem to remain the same from decade to decade and from technological revolution to technological revolution. But much has been achieved as well.
