I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
10.2. SUPPORTING THE COMPLETE LEARNING JOURNEY
With all the learning solutions I've been involved in, I was always perplexed by the fact that effective training doesn't guarantee effective performance. Where does the gap come from? How can a student who tests out in the 90th percentile or higher after training not run back to work and become a productive user at the workplace? It has to do with the difference between mastery and competency.
Mastery vs. Competency. Mastery is defined as the possession of consummate skills. It's all about consumption. Someone who has achieved mastery walks away from the learning experience with the correct and appropriate knowledge of a particular subject.
