I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The VLOOKUP & HLOOKUP functions
The VLOOKUP (Figures 71 and 72) and HLOOKUP functions return information based on data stored in a lookup table. The function attempts to match a value in one of its arguments to values in the first column (VLOOKUP) or first row (HLOOKUP) of the lookup table. If it finds a match, it returns the associated value.
Figure 71. This example illustrates the VLOOKUP function. When you enter an item number in cell B1, the formula in B2 attempts to match it to a value in the first column of the lookup table below it (A5:D12) . If it finds a match, it returns the value in the fourth column of the same row as the match. The formula in cell B2 is shown in cell C2.
