SDH Alarms
The SDH overhead described in the previous section provides a variety of management information and other functions including error performance monitoring, pointer information, path status and trace, path trace, section trace, remote defect, error, failure indications, signal labels, data flag indications, DCC information, APS control, orderwire information, and synchronization status messages. A majority of the overhead information is involved with alarm and in-service monitoring of the particular SDH sections.
