It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
ONS 15400 Series of Optical Platforms
The 15400 series of optical platforms includes the Cisco ONS 15454 SONET multiservice provisioning platform. The ONS 15454 is the most versatile and widely deployed MSPP that supports transport of TDM and Ethernet services over SONET and SDH. The 15454 MSPP provides carrier-class service provisioning at the network edge. The Cisco ONS 15454 multiservice transport platform (MSTP) provides carrier-class multiservice delivery via metro DWDM. In addition to integrating DWDM and 32-channel OC-192/STM-64 capability onto the service platform, this product also scales optical transport from 10s of kilometers to 100s of kilometers.
