BIOSLoader

WHAT’S IN THIS CHAPTER?

  • Using BIOSLoader

The x86 BIOS bootloader (BIOSLoader) is a bootloader provided as part of the Platform Builder for the Compact 7 development tool to support x86-based devices.

The BIOSLoader does not have the function to initialize system hardware: it is dependent on the x86 device’s system BIOS to initialize the hardware, and is launched by the system BIOS.

You can configure the BIOSLoader to launch a Compact 7 OS run-time image and Ethernet bootloader from the device’s local storage.
