So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
CONNECTING TO A TARGET DEVICE WITH CORECON
The previous section shows the steps and files needed to prepare and enable a Compact 7 target device to accept a CoreCon connection from the development station. With the Compact 7 target device able to access the required CoreCon files and launch the necessary CoreCon executable, you can initiate a CoreCon connection from the development station to the target device. For the connection to take place, both the development station and target device must be attached to the same Local Area Network and assigned with IP addresses for the same subnet.
A CoreCon connection to support VS2008 application development can be established only within an active VS2008 smart device application project. With a smart device application project open, from the VS2008 IDE, click the Device Options icon, as shown in Figure 16-4, to bring up the Options screen, as shown in Figure 16-5.
Instead of clicking the Device Options button, you can bring up the Options screen from the VS2008 Tools menu. From the VS2008 Tools menu, click Options.
