USING BIOSLOADER
For an x86-based device that supports booting from IDE, Compact Flash, and USB flash storage, you can configure the BIOSLoader to launch a Compact 7 OS run-time image from these storages.
You need the following components to prepare a storage device to launch a Compact 7 OS image using BIOSLoader:
- Boot sector image: BSECT.IMG
- CESYS.EXE utility
- BIOSLoader image: BLDR
Boot Sector Image: BSECT.IMG
You need to use a boot sector image that supports the storage device’s configured file system. Precompiled boot sector images for EXFAT, FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32 file systems are in the \IMAGES subfolder under the \BIOSLOADER\BOOTSECTOR folder. When using one of the precompiled boot sector image files, such as FAT32_BSECT.IMG, you need to rename the file as BSECT.IMG. Source codes for the boot sector are in the subfolders with the folder name corresponding to the supported file system name.
CESYS.EXE Utility
The CESYS.EXE utility is needed to copy the boot sector image to the file system boot partition’s first sector.
BIOSLoader Image: BLDR
You need to use a BIOSLoader image, BLDR, that supports the storage device’s file system.
