SUMMARY
This chapter starts by explaining the differences between polling and interrupts for scheduling responses to hardware events. It examines the Windows Embedded Compact 7 Interrupt architecture and its uses in device drivers. Watchdog timers as a source of interrupts were considered along with a sample driver and application that implements a watchdog timer for the eBox hardware. Finally, how to create a native Platform Builder DLL project and an application project that uses it were explained.
