So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The endpoint
First of all, we need to configure the endpoint with our named credentials. Why do we do that? With a named credential, you can simplify the authentication to a web service by configuring your web service endpoint and your type of authentication. Named credentials support basic authentication through OAuth.
Let's configure our API endpoint:
- Go to your Salesforce Setup screen and type in Named (of Named Credentials):
- Click on Named Credentials and add a new Named Credential:
