Salesforce environments

When we refer to environments, we are talking about an org or an instance. These three words can be used interchangeably.

It's your little space from the multi-tenant environment—your instance of the Salesforce Platform. When you sign up for an org, you get access through your unique username. As stipulated in Chapter 1, Salesforce Fundamentals, your username must be unique worldwide and org-wide.
