It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuration of a site
Force.com sites will be used to define your own corporate website, with several Visualforce pages, Lightning pages, Visualforce components, and Lightning components. But what about your data? What if a user on your website cannot access your data without logging in to Salesforce?
With Force.com sites, you can configure the following things:
- What a user can see when he/she isn't logged in
- Which type of data or which records can be accessed
Each Force.com site has a kind of guest user with guest access, and this guest access has access to the objects and records you configure.
