I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Developer Console
The Developer Console is the out-of-the-box, cloud-based IDE that Salesforce provides you with. It is only connected to one org—the one from which you start up the Developer Console. It's not possible to open the Developer Console from your production org and connect it to one of your sandboxes or other environments!
The Developer Console can be used to:
- Create, edit, and delete Apex classes, triggers, Lightning components, Visualforce pages, and Visualforce components.
- Execute unit tests and analyze the test results.
- Write and execute SOQL and SOSL queries to visualize data from within your org.
- Execute code in an anonymous context directly on your database, including SOQL and DML statements.
