Action methods

Action methods execute logic when an event on the page occurs, such as when a user clicks on a button in the page. Action methods can be called by using the {!} notation in the action attribute in one of the following tags:

• <apex:commandButton />: The user clicks on a button
• <apex:commandLink />: The user clicks on a link
• <apex:actionPoller />: Calling an action in a certain period

• <apex:actionSupport />: Calling an action during an event, like a click, over hovering over an element
• <apex:actionFunction />: Define a JavaScript function that calls an action
• <apex:page />: Call an action when the page loads
