I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Deploying metadata through unmanaged packages
Another way to deploy customizations or code is through packages. Deploying through a package is much like installing an app from the AppExchange.
You will create an unmanaged package in your developer org that contains all the components that need to be deployed to a target org. Once your package is complete, an installation link will be generated. You, or somebody else, will then be able to install/deploy your package by clicking on that link and selecting on which org it needs to be deployed.
It's important to note that packages can only be created from developer orgs. Luckily for us, we did everything in a developer org. Also, deploying through the use of packages lets you deploy your components ...
