When you enter a URL in the location field of your Web browser, more often than not it begins with http. The http stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol, the modus operandi that Web servers and Web browsers follow in order to talk with each other. This hour covers the inner workings of http to provide you with a good understanding of the basic building blocks of the Web.

  • A detailed description of an HTTP transaction

  • Information about response codes and response headers from an HTTP server
