From the shopping cart, the user is allowed to check out. In this case, the user is simply asked for his address and payment information, which is then stored so that the order can be fulfilled. Let’s look at the general case for online stores first. After a user has selected some items from an online catalog, and is ready to purchase them, certain information must be collected. After the information has been gathered, there are several steps that generally also occur. Not all sites use all these steps, but I’ll list them anyway. First, let’s look at the information gathered:
The user’s name and billing address
The address to which the items being purchased should be shipped
The method of payment for the shipment
