When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

| Q1: | Isn’t it the case that the “ad server” in this chapter wouldn’t work in the real world? |
| A1: | It will run and serve up random ads, but it won’t work as a real ad server, for one reason, which is that it doesn’t print the links that will be included in the HTML on the page. Ads require not only an image, but also a link that the ad will click through to. Most ad servers also provide functionality that enables the administrator to make sure that each ad is shown the required number of times and to divide the ads up into campaigns. Obviously the script in this chapter is much simpler than that. |
