It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
What Is an Error Document?
Whenever you request a URL that no longer exists, or you enter the wrong username and password trying to view a page that is protected using basic authentication, you’re met with an error document. Most Web servers have default error documents for each type of error, and also allow the server administrator to configure things so that another document or CGI program can be called to override the default documents. The document in Figure 23.1 is the default document for a 404 Not Found error from the Apache server.
