Azure account

An Azure (billing) account is an account that is used for billing and management purposes of Azure subscriptions. An Azure account grants access to the Azure Billing portal, where you can create and manage Azure subscriptions. There are two types of Azure accounts, personal and organizational:

  • Personal account: If you are accessing Azure for personal use, you will need to create an Azure Billing account prior to creating a subscription. In this case, an Azure account can be created using a personal Microsoft account (former live ID). A Microsoft account can be created using any e-mail provider. You can sign up for a free Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com.
