App Service Editor

Clicking on the App Service Editor button will open a new browser tab, as shown in the following screenshot. Opening the App Service Editor allows you to develop your application using Visual Studio online. In addition to editing the specific function files such as function.json and run.csx, which you can do in the function editor, you will also be able to browse the entire application folder structure and modify the host.json file and any additional project files you may have created.

If you edit the function.json file of a Function App under the Consumption Plan in the App Service Editor, the triggers will only be synchronized after the Functions Portal is refreshed and the change is reflected there.
