Triggering a function using custom code

As mentioned earlier, some functions can be relatively hard to trigger. In certain cases, when the function input can be easily simulated (such as simulating a queue message), the function can be triggered from Function Core Tools, as described earlier. In some cases, simulating an event that triggers a function requires custom code, or an integration tool such as Storage Explorer.

For certain trigger types, such as Storage Blobs and Queues, or Service Bus Queues and Topics, you may choose to create the "real" event to trigger the function. This is especially true if you want to test the full integrated flow.
