NOTES: Once I had my camera settings kind of dialed in, I took a few test shots and I wasn’t thrilled with the softness of the light—meaning the light coming in through the giant sliding glass doors was harder and a bit harsher than I would like. So, I pulled the sheers closed (they had been open, so my subject was receiving direct light) to help diffuse the light, which is a great way to quickly provide better, softer light. Closing the sheers, though, also cuts the intensity of the light, which is why I kicked up my ISO to 200—I was afraid the lower light would drop my shutter speed too much.
