So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Using Hard Light Shadow Patterns
If you have a window that casts an interesting pattern on the wall, you might consider using that as a background pattern behind your subject. This may put your subject in harder light, but if your subject has pretty decent skin (or you’re pretty decent at retouching skin in Photoshop), you can absolutely get away with it.
