When we’re shooting with lenses that are at f/2.8 or above, we have a very simple routine for ensuring super-sharp portraits. You start by looking through your viewfinder, and then you aim the center dot and position it right over your subject’s eye (as seen above left). Then, press the shutter button on your camera halfway down to lock your focus on your subject’s eye.
