Instance Management
When you launch an instance of a VM, several things happen. The scheduler allocates resources, the network manager assigns an IP address, the instance is launched and its resources are managed, and eventually it is terminated and shut down. There are many ways to manage this process. One that works for both OpenStack and Eucalyptus instances is euca2ools. Another is the OpenStack dashboard. Because you read about euca2ools in an earlier section, here you get a quick, high-level view of management via the GUI dashboard that you installed earlier in this section.
