So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Deploy/Install Basics: Public or Private?
There are two ways to deploy Ubuntu Cloud based on Eucalyptus: on a private cloud or on a public cloud. Both have benefits and drawbacks. This section presents the things you need to consider when choosing. We also look at a way to mix the two.
A public Ubuntu Cloud is built on Amazon’s EC2. This means your local hardware requirements are minimal, your startup costs are low, deployment is quick, and growth is easy. This can be useful for testing, but is probably not a great idea for production. The drawback to working this way is that you do not physically control the hardware on which your cloud is running.
