This activity begins with the group individually completing a questionnaire to
analyze what factors motivate them within the workplace. An explanation of
Maslow’s motivational theory follows, with individuals then reviewing their
questionnaire results against this theory. This theory is then linked to the
appraisal process and how the understanding of a motivational concept can
help improve work performance and aid in setting objectives and conducting
career planning.
