Purpose: To develop subroutines to initialize and react through ISR for mode 0 (13-bit Timer/Counter
mode) interrupt of Timer 0 so that it is reloaded and restarted.
Problem
Assuming that a 12 MHz crystal is attached with a 8051 microcontroller what is the maximum time delay
possible to be generated if its Timer 0 is decided to be used in Mode 0? Develop the initialization routine for
this purpose and also the relevant ISR.
Solution
Mode 0 of timer allows us to use any timer (Timer 0 or Timer 1 of 8051) to generate either a single interrupt or
multiple interrupts. For the second case, the general procedure is stop-reload-run, which means, after timer interrupt
at the terminal count, ...

I wanted to learn C and C++, but it didn't click for me until I picked up an O'Reilly book. When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.

I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.
