To interface 8255 with 8051, we are to take care of all signals depicted at the left side of 8255 in Fig. 27.1.

• Data lines D0-D7
• Address lines A0, A1 and chip select signal CE
• Control signals RD and WR
• System RESET.
All of these signals are available either directly or indirectly, from 8051, as illustrated in Fig. 27.6.
To derive the address signals A0 and A1 from multiplexed address-data signals of 8051, we are to inter-
