Most of the settings discussed below (like page margins, columns, etc.) are set when creating a document, changed globally via File > Document Setup…, or edited on a page-by-page basis via Layout > Margins and Columns…. The last of these is best done with "Parent Pages" (page 287).

Whether in print, in an ePub, or online, the content we read is hopefully displayed in a friendly, usable context. White space helps us see hierarchy and draws our eyes to the words that matter. So we should try to give our content a context that is easy on the eyes.
