6 Find/Change & Scripts
We have used Find/Change extensively in this course. It’s proved to be an effective aid in formatting large swaths of text. In this chapter’s exercises, we’ll look at a few more ways this feature can save us time.
Even the best features become tedious when they need to be used dozens or hundreds of times. Scripts provide a way to perform many steps very quickly. They can also extend what’s possible to do in InDesign beyond its impressive capabilities. Fortunately, you don’t have to create scripts. There are many available, most for free, provided by generous users for our use.
