It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Object Styles for Anchored Objects
In the novel project, we used image frames that were anchored above empty paragraphs. This was a way to ensure that the illustrations were indeed near the text that referenced them.
There are three choices for an anchored object’s Position: Inline, Above Line, and Custom. Inline is appropriate for frames that are little bigger than the text to which they’re anchored. It’s easy to make a frame anchored inline; just paste it into the text flow like this:
