The Layers panel is a useful feature to manage content. By “manage,” I mean hide and show content across the document, control visual stacking order, and lock items that it would be best not to alter.
The figure below is borrowed from the Compendium discussion of “Layers” (page 314), which is a good read. That’s a hint.
Examine page 4 and 5 of the downloaded course file 04 Shapes and Object Styles.indd, which now have images you placed.
Use the Selection tool to select the frame with the pie chart graphic.
Note that the frame edge and control handles are teal in color. The color tells you something.
